In these two pictures you see the design process and the actual prototype of the handheld version. The first picture shows a sketch of the design of the device. Here you see that we want to develop a device in the shape of a typical Amsterdams ‘grachtenpand’ (residence along the canal). Next to the shape, there are some navigation buttons visible on the bottom of the device and above them we have created a small TFT screen. After having sketched the design on paper we draw the design on a computer using a graphical design software. With the digital version of our design the laser cutter created our plastic prototype. In the second picture you see the result of it. A key cord is attached to the device, so that it can be carried around your neck as well.
